Houston’s Kids Against Hunger. Houston’s Kids Against Hunger is a humanitarian food-aid organization that engages volunteers of all ages to pack highly nutritious meals designed to feed the world’s hungry. Our solution. Houston’s Kids Against Hunger joins with the combined strengths of over 55 satellites across the U.S. and Canada to raise awareness about hunger and work to eradicate it. Using specially formulated ingredients, each satellite works to package life-saving meals that are shipped across America and around the world. These meals provide the nourishment needed to combat the effects of starvation and aid in recovery. Houston’s Kids Against Hunger retains about half of the meals packaged to distribute locally or make available to other charities we trust. Kids Against Hunger meals. Each meal packaged by Kids Against Hunger is filled with 21 vitamins and minerals, along with 11 grams of protein and 9 essential amino acids. They address hunger at its various stages, making them easy to digest by even those in frail health. Each meal supplies the optimum amount of nutrition for a malnourished child. Be a part of something big. In 2012, Kids Against Hunger nationally reached 1 billion meals packaged or delivered in the US and to more than 60 countries. This year, KAH satellites will combine efforts across America and Canada to package 200 million life-saving meals. If you want to join us, there are three ways to get involved.

1. Package Meals Join us at a packing event where children, teens and adults work together to mix dry ingredients. Collect money from your friends, family and co-workers using our pledge form. This will cover the costs of food and shipping to those in need.
2. Start a Team Become a team captain. Create a team name and contact your friends, family and co-workers, and ask them to join. Then all 12 of you find 12 people to donate $10 each, a total of $120 per team member or $1440 per team. Bring your team to the next scheduled packaging event for 2 hours.
